Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.
On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City. It's where we list all the books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.
Summary from GoodReads:
Darkness falls ...Despair abounds ...Evil reigns ...Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction by the mighty forces of King Galbatorix, cruel ruler of the Empire. Now Eragon must travel to Ellesmera, land of the elves, for further training in magic and swordsmanship, the vital skills of the Dragon Rider. It is the journey of a lifetime, filled with awe-inspiring new places and people, each day a fresh adventure. But chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and Eragon isn't sure whom he can trust. Meanwhile, his cousin Roran must fight a new battle back home in Carvahall - one that puts Eragon in even graver danger. Will the king's dark hand strangle all resistance? Eragon may not escape with even his life.
My Thoughts:
I read the first in the Inheritance series, Eragon, years ago and loved it. Then the movie came out and broke my heart because it ruined the story. I think it's time though for me to find out what happens to Eragon and Saphira next.

I hope you'll enjoy this when you read it, and that the story continues well.

I've got three books in this series on my bookcase, I saw the film so I'm trying to leave them a little while. It does look a good series. I hope you get this soon :D
ReplyDeleteHopping through!
ReplyDeleteI read the first book years ago but wasn't that impressed with the story - I thought the author (who was 15/16? at the time) was very promising though... Did the writing get better as he got older? I just thought the first book was a regurgitation of a lot of fantasy books I've read, but maybe he did get better as he matured...
I think I read Eragon AGES ago but I know I watched the movie so it's possible I'm remembering wrong. I know I have the book though and should read (or reread) it so I can continue the series. The movie has faded from memory so I should be able to enjoy it without that influencing me in any way.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your book if / when you get it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a slow week of reading. I'm wishing for a picture book again. Please come see what I'm wishing for.
Enjoy your book if / when you get it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these books. My son and my mother loved this series, though.
