Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.
On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City. It's where we list all the books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

Summary from GoodReads:
Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively, and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver. Through Denny, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition, and he sees that life, like racing, isn't simply about going fast. Using the techniques needed on the race track, one can successfully navigate all of life's ordeals.
On the eve of his death, Enzo takes stock of his life, recalling all that he and his family have been through. In the end, despite what he sees as his own limitations, Enzo comes through heroically to preserve the Swift family, holding in his heart the dream that Denny will become a racing champion with Zoƫ at his side.
A heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty, and hope, The Art of Racing in the Rain is a beautifully crafted and captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life...as only a dog could tell it.
My Thoughts:
This may be sad but I have a feeling that it will be so worth it…

I absolutely loved The Art of Racing in the Rain. It's emotional but you will love Enzo. He is an awesome narrator.
ReplyDeleteHi again Melissa! What a wonderful book! The synopsis sound great and the point of view is really unique. It may be sad but yes, it sounds like it should be worth it. And who doesn't love dogs? Well, I do! I'm putting this on my wishlisht.
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting that you mentioned wanting to read this- when just over the weekend I saw an old friend and she told me that I HAVE to read The Art of Racing in the Rain. I thought it was a running book- lol- and then she told me it was about a dog. Looks like something I would love!

It must be interesting to read a book from a dog's POV. It reminds a bit of the book; Corduroy Mansion because there's a smart cute dog character in there too.
ReplyDeleteOh I hadn't read the description of this one before, it sounds good!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic book if you are into reading from a "man's best friend" perspective. A passionate story that will keep you interested in what is happening in a family and how it touches Zoe, Denny and Enzo.
