2013 Witches & Witchcraft Sign Up Post!


Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the 2012 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge!  I hope you all had as much fun as I did!  Welcome to the 2013 Challenge!!

  • Low commitment...you can sign up to read just ONE book as an INITIATE!!! 
  • Mini Challenges with Prizes at least quarterly
  • Participants who choose to link up reviews will be entered for the end of year prize!!

Challenge Rules:
  1. This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2013 - Dec 31, 2013.  I will be posting a place to link up a sign-up post (below), reviews and a wrap-up post. (Note: You do not have to review the books to participate, but only those who link up reviews will be entered for the prize)
  2. Grab the reading challenge button (code & button below) and post this reading challenge on your blog to track your progress. Please include a link back to this sign-up post so others can join the reading challenge too. You do not have to be a book blogger to participate- you could track your progress and post reviews on  Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, etc.
  3. Any full length book that includes a witch as a main character or major witchcraft elements counts.  They may be fiction or non-fiction.  However, they should not be reference books which are not read cover to cover-I will leave this to your discretion.  
  4. Books can be any format (bound, eBook, audio).
  5. Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
  6. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap-up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
  7. When you sign up in the linky put the direct link to your post about joining the 2013 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge.
  8. You can move up levels, but no moving down.
  9. Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2013, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.
  10. Have some Witchy Good Fun !!!

Participants who have officially signed up by linking up a sign-up post declaring their level  will be given one entry for every review they link up.  The more reviews you write and link up, the more entries in the contest!  Link up your reviews on that months Review Link Up Post. Winner will be chosen on Jan 11th 2014 to give everyone a chance to link up their end of year reviews.  All Challenge Posts can be accessed from my menu bar under my header!

    My horrible craving for challenges has yet again won out over my resolution not to join any more challenges. I'm so ashamed (not really). I'm definitely going to have to be sensible though, I tend to be a big fail when I start getting ambitious with new challenges. :)

    What a brilliant idea this is. Well done for hosting Melissa. You may already have considered this, then omitted it from the list, but there's also my novel "Witchstruck" for those who like history AND witchery. :)

    The new one, "Witch Tower", is out July 2013. The cover is AWESOME, though of course I can't comment on the content.

    This is my first time entering this challenge and I really love books about witchcraft. I just have a question. Does the book have to be a first in the series or can my entry be just that of the next book? I've read some of the books suggested but I haven't gotten into their sequels yet.

    Can I ask a question?
    I'm currently reading a murder mystery. The main theme for this time is Wicca and Witchcraft - the suspected murderer claims she's a witch, the murder was preformed "by chanting", there are protection runes and amulets given to the characters and while at the end we will undoubtedly find out that it was not, after all, magic, the whole theme of the book is witchcraft. Does such a book count toward the challenge?

      I'll help you out :) All you need to do is click the linky up there and add your name, email and copy and paste your goodreads profile link. Then each month if you write a review on goodreads...go to that months review linky and do the same using the link for your review:)

    Going for a low number this year, Maiden at 6-10 books. Since I plan to join other challenges with different genres, low numbers in each will be easier, but still give a large number of books in total.. Hopefully :)
