Day 1 Monday - Updates & Challenges:

Books Completed: None
Challenges Completed: 2
Cover2CoverBlog Mini Challenge:
1. Which book you are most excited to read in the coming year? It can be already released or coming soon.
That is very hard to narrow down! Here are two of a million:
Already Released - Shades of Earth (Across the Universe #3) by Beth Revis
Coming in the Fall - Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts
2. Which book would you re-read if you had the time and weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good thing?
I have never re-read a book...EVER! But if I were going to do so it would be either:
- The Harry Potter series - If I have children or if my nieces and nephews are ever allowed to read this series I will definitely read it with them!
- The Passage & the Twelve by Justin Cronin - in preparation for the release of The City of Mirrors next year.
I know it is so cliche, but I would love to meet all of the characters from the Harry Potter series. If I had to pick just one character though, it would probably be Sherlock Holmes-I so want to see his mind at work first hand!

Day 2 Tuesday - Updates & Challenges:
Pages Read: 70 pages in The Light in the Ruins
Audio Listened to: 1 hour of One Tiny Lie
Books Completed: None
Challenges Completed: 2
Better Read Than Dead Mini Challenge:
You're in a bookstore and you've just purchased 5 books you've been dying to read, when the apocalypse hits. (Zombie, Demons, Vampires, Dean Winchester vs. Sam Winchester (yes, I'm watching Supernatural reruns) I don't care what apocalypse). You've got one chance at survival, what 2 books do you take and what 3 other items do you take?
I'd take a Survival Handbook and a Field Guide to Edible Plants. Then I'd also take a backpack (the better to store and carry my scavanged items) , a knife and a lighter.
Make your dream guy using characteristics, personalities, looks, and anything else you can think of from your favorite book boyfriends.
Oh goodness...I can't keep my husband? lol Hmmm...For looks, I think I'd take Ashton (One Tiny Lie - KA Tucker) and for personality and intelligence a combo of Sam (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series - Maggie Stiefvater) & Augustus (The Fault in Our Stars - John Green)
Day 3 Wednesday - Updates & Challenges:
Pages Read: 115 pages in The Light in the Ruins
Audio Listened to: 1 hour of One Tiny Lie
Books Completed: None
Challenges Completed: 1
Dizneeee's World of Books Mini Challenge:
Tell me your favorite genre, favorite book within that genre, and your favorite character from the same genre.
I'm having a real hard time narrowing this down...so I'll just go with my first thoughts: Paranormal Romance, The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater, And Sam from that series:)
Read-a-thon Totals:
Pages Read: 235 pages in The Light in the Ruins
Audio Listened to: 3 hours of One Tiny Lie
Books Completed: None
Challenges Completed: 5
Well, I didn't even complete one book! lol Just goes to prove that read-a-thons only work for me if I'm on vacation. There's just no way to squeeze more reading time into the day! Regardless though I had a lot of fun...especially with the awesome challenges:)
Good luck on your goals Melissa!

Harry Potter is a popular choice for wishful rereads but it's definitely one of those series. I'm with you on wanting to meet Sherlock Holmes. I don't know if I'd like what he'd have to say, but I've been wondering what deductions he would make about me. Good luck with your goals!

Good luck! Thanks so much for joining in! It's Tuesday afternoon and my parents have just left so now I'm finally able to really jump in and get some reading done now that my company is gone.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have thought to bring a lighter. That's smart! I brought a knife though :)
ReplyDeleteOh I totally forgot to do all the mini-challenges. Doh. I would re-read the Harry Potter series all the time :) The only way I squeezed in more reading time is because I didn't write reviews on my blog or anything. It's hard to squeeze in reading time! I think you did a great job on your goals :)
