My horrible craving for challenges has yet again won out over my resolution not to join any more challenges. I'm so ashamed (not really). I'm definitely going to have to be sensible though, I tend to be a big fail when I start getting ambitious with new challenges. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha...I am so bad with challenges too! I joined about 20 last year...definitely cutting back this year...but I know I am good for witchy reads!
DeleteThanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteYW:)
DeleteThanks for hosting again, Melissa! I had a lot of fun with this year's challenge and exceeded my "witchy" goal!!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteThis sounds like fun. But, I doubt I'll see many good Witch/Wicca books out there to read.
ReplyDeleteHi everybody,
ReplyDeleteThis is great. I love Wicca books. There are so many good ones if you really look.
So true...there's definitely something for everyone out there...from fiction to non-fiction!
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea this is. Well done for hosting Melissa. You may already have considered this, then omitted it from the list, but there's also my novel "Witchstruck" for those who like history AND witchery. :)
ReplyDeleteThe new one, "Witch Tower", is out July 2013. The cover is AWESOME, though of course I can't comment on the content.
Have a great festive season!
Vx
I've added Witchstruck:)
DeleteI don't have my own blog but want to participate in the challenge. I linked you to my Goodreads Page where I will review the book for this challenge. However, I don't know where to post the level I'm trying to reach, the books I plan to read for this challenge or the wrap up post. So I'll post some of that info hear and if I should post it somewhere else please let me know.
ReplyDeleteLevel: The Initiate (1-5 Books)
1. The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
2. Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough
3. Always a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough
4. Witch World by Christopher Pike

ReplyDeleteYay for another year with witches! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been into cozy paranormal mysteries with witches in them lately. I love this challenge!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I may do nothing but witchy cozies in Feb!!
DeleteAll signed up. Thanks for hosting. I am looking forward to participating.
DeleteGreat challenge! I love any book with witches or magic in so it's awesome you've made a challenge just for them :)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI'm going to give this one a try. I love witchy books... I didn't read as many as I normally do last year, so hopefully this challenge will fix that for 2013. Thanks for the great challenge!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great way to remind yourself to pick up a few extra witchy reads!
Deletewell I kicked myself in the rearend all last year because I missed out on joining, so I'm definitely in this time, however, I dont have a blog either, so will be linking to my goodreads page.

So glad you are joining this year!!
DeleteThis is my first time entering this challenge and I really love books about witchcraft. I just have a question. Does the book have to be a first in the series or can my entry be just that of the next book? I've read some of the books suggested but I haven't gotten into their sequels yet.
ReplyDeleteAny Witchy book is fine...it can be the first in a series, the last or any in the middle. Or a stand alone:)
DeleteI love that you had that. The more peop;le read the better the mind works-at any age. This was a great idea!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are joining!
DeleteThis sounds so much fun! Definitely going to join in :-)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo:)
DeleteI'm in. I'm only doing a few challenges this year (I'm thinking 3 at most) and, of course, I couldn't skip yours ;-)
ReplyDeleteI will be back with my post in a few days ;-)
Woohoo:)
DeleteHere is my link- http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/5699299-terri-lynn I blog but not currently about books. One branch of my family is Wiccan and has been forever so I am a huge fan of witchcraft books.
ReplyDeleteSounds like this challenge wil be perfect for you :)
DeleteSounds interesting besides being witchy book does it have to fall in the catagory of what Y/A (young adult) or more mature adult titles like Triad by Laura Dane ...
ReplyDeleteAny age level, any genre, fiction or non-fiction...as long as it is witchy!
DeleteThanks :)
DeleteMy goal would be a Maiden
No blog but will be posted on my goodreads account (http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/5152859-beckey-white)
and the bookshelves of the books can be found here

Finished the first book for this challenge today (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/492696246)
DeleteSo excited! Can't wait to start reading! I love witchy books, this is perfect :p thanks for hosting this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us:)
DeleteExcited to see you hosting this again, M. Best reading challenge on the blogosphere! And this will give me a push to finish reading the Hex Hall series, The Secret Circle, Born Wicked, Audrey's Guide to Witchcraft, and a Discovery of Witches...for starters. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat list you have there...I really need to check out the Hex Hall series!
DeleteNot gonna blog, but will do reviews on Goodreads. I'll aim for the initiate level. I love witchy fiction, but not sure I have much in my tbr pile right now that fits.
ReplyDeleteThat's great...just link up with your goodreads profiule URL:)
DeleteI will join you! Love reading.
ReplyDeleteYayy!!!
DeleteCan I ask a question?
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading a murder mystery. The main theme for this time is Wicca and Witchcraft - the suspected murderer claims she's a witch, the murder was preformed "by chanting", there are protection runes and amulets given to the characters and while at the end we will undoubtedly find out that it was not, after all, magic, the whole theme of the book is witchcraft. Does such a book count toward the challenge?
That would 100% count!
DeleteAwesome! So signing up for this. I also wanted to offer a title suggestion: my debut novel, The Burning of Isobel Key, certainly fits the witchy bill! http://www.amazon.com/The-Burning-Isobel-Legacy-ebook/dp/B009DP4WXE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357140164&sr=8-2&keywords=isobel+key
ReplyDeleteI've added your book to the list:) Welcome aboard!
DeleteLet's try this again!!! This year I am going to aim low and just go for the Initiate level.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are joining again:)
DeleteHi Melissa! This is a cool challenge! I love the witchyness of it!
ReplyDeleteI hope to reach Mother or Crone level. We'll see! Thanks! )O(
Thanks for joining!
DeleteThanks for hosting such a swell challenge, Melissa. This is my first try at a reading challenge and I'm looking forward to having a go at it. I'm really into urban fantasy right now, so most of my titles are in that genre.
ReplyDeleteThe Speculative Salon is actually a group blog, so you may see more links for our site as some of my fellow bloggers might want to sign up too. Good luck everyone!
Hey Melissa,
ReplyDeleteJust making sure I'm counted! Thanks for this challenge.
Debye
Yay...you are in!!
DeleteAre comics included in this? Like Buffy or Charmed? :)
ReplyDeleteI'll leave it to your discretion! I don't read comics but I am flexible :)
DeleteSign me up for "Mother" :) I loved this last year and I'm excited to do it again. My link back post:
ReplyDeletehttp://wyllowthewitch.blogspot.com/2013/01/2013-witches-witchcraft-reading.html
So glad you have joined again:)
DeleteI would love to be a part of the challenge I am on goodreads but I don't have a blog. My goodreads profile is http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/16138405 I've never done a challenge before so not sure how to proceed. I am going to start at the initiate level since this is my first challenge. I'm not sure how to do a link back post so if someone could help out it would be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI'll help you out :) All you need to do is click the linky up there and add your name, email and copy and paste your goodreads profile link. Then each month if you write a review on goodreads...go to that months review linky and do the same using the link for your review:)
DeleteThanks Melissa I think I got it right
DeletePerfect!
DeleteHi Melissa
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by my site to welcome me to the challenge.
I am just starting on my first witchy book now. cannot wait to get going
thanks for running such a great idea.
I can't believe I didn't read anything witchy this month!! I'll have to make it up in February
ReplyDeleteGoing for a low number this year, Maiden at 6-10 books. Since I plan to join other challenges with different genres, low numbers in each will be easier, but still give a large number of books in total.. Hopefully :)
ReplyDeleteI have signed up and published a post on my blog here: http://teefay.wordpress.com/2013/04/25/witchcraft-reading-challenge/ :-)
